Gordon Dimmer was born in Bournemouth to the late Florence and Arthur Dimmer.

Our hearts were shattered, and our lives will never be the same again after he passed away on 3rd June 2020 following a very short battle with Cancer.

Gordon was a proud father to Donna, Sarah, Martyn, Rachael and Daniel and stepfather to Ben, Nick, Sam, Joey and Beth.He was an amazing grandad to Kieran, Chloe, Jamie, Ruby, Jacob, Zachary, Olivia, Amelia, Elsie, Rosie and Oliver.  He leaves behind his loving wife Jenny, who he affectionately referred to as his wifey, his mother-in-law and good friend/partner in crime Bar and his sister and brother-in-law, Gill and Phil, whom he was very close to.

Both family and friends will have their own precious memories of such an incredible, clever, kind and caring family man. Anyone who he encountered would instantly love and respect him, he would always know how to light up a room with his jokes, pranks and cheeky ways!  He will be deeply missed by all and leaves a gaping hole in our hearts, but he is now at peace and will continue to live on in our memories.

We ask that instead of flowers you would consider donating to the charities that we know he would want us to support in his name. He struggled in recent times with Parkinson’s Disease and previously supported Parkinson’s UK by raising funds on a sponsored cycle ride round the Isle of Wight with Donna, to help others with this life limiting illness.  We would therefore like to support Parkinson’s UK. 

The care he received in his final weeks from the local District Nurse Team was incredible, despite him baffling them on many occasions (we all know he didn’t like to stick to the rules!) but they never gave up and developed a lovely bond with him on their visits.  For this reason, we would also like to support them in their work so that others in the community can continue to receive the care that he did.
